 Happy 3rd Week of School

Good morning Pershing I hope you all are enjoying a nice relaxing weekend. As we start week three of school I want to remind you all to continue to find the good things that are worth celebrating and celebrate those things with your colleagues and class. It is easy to slip into routine and checklist however we must remember there is a lot of good that goes on in our lives both professionally and personally, and it is important that you are initial about celebrating.

This week schedule will look like the following

Elementary

Middle School

Will meet in room 214 

This month we begin our 3-2 Split. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday are dedicated to PLT and Wednesday and Friday are dedicated to grade level team meetings. 

September  Staff Meeting 

September 5: SPS U/Open house 5-7pm 

September 24: Committees 7:30-8:30 am 

Grading Expectations Reminder

Pershing Grading expectations is at least 2 grades per week entered into Canvas 

Lesson Plans/Focus Boards

As we begin the 3rd week of school and we are all started to the implantation of of District Curriculum, we will be intentionally looking for the implantation of Focus Boards and the completion of lesson plans.

Focus Board Expectation

• Permanently placed in the room and clearly visible to the back of the room.
• Teacher reference Focus Board throughout the lesson

Lesson Plans Expectation

• Lessons are turned into the hub Thursday by end of day
• Lessons reflect the implantation of district curriculum and anticipation/differentiation to meet the needs of your students.

Operational 

Safe Schools 

Begin now working on your Safe Schools Vector training. The 1st deadline will be Oct. 21st, 2024. Please don’t let this date sneak up on you. 

Professional Growth Plans

Growth plans are now visible through KickUp. Please begin working on these now. Linked HERE you will find directions to filling it out. These must be completed by Sept. 13th 2024.

Middle School Handbook Distribution 

Middle School teachers will receive guidance this week from Dr. Bartels and Mr. Cooper on the distribution of student handbooks. Please be on the lookout for this communication.

SPS university/Open House 

We will have open house/SPS university Thursday from 5-7pm. This is a time that we welcome parents into our classrooms, showcase student work, preview what is going to be taught/learned this school year etc.. Listed below are some expectations for this event

• Make sure rooms are ready and you are ready to receive parents at 5 pm
• Professional Dress or new Green Pershing shirt with jeans
• Dinner will be served for teachers at 4:30 pm
