Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
This week is set aside to celebrate each and everyone of you for your hard work and dedication to educating our students. I want to say thank you. Thank you for your service to our school and community. I believe that it takes a special person to be a teacher. And each of you are specially designed for the work that you do everyday for the students of Pershing. We want to celebrate you with the following plan for the week:Monday- Coffee and bagels from StuCo
Tuesday- Pulled pork sandwiches and sides from Second Baptist Church
Wednesday- A little surprise from PTSA
Thursday- Pasta lunch from Brentwood Christian Church. (There will be one GF option, as long as it lasts)
Friday- A gift from Mr. Wells
Celebrations

Coach Mitchell celebrates with 8th Grade Girls for winning City Champs at the track meet on Friday. (Global Society)
5th Grade participating in Arbor Day presentation (Community and Global Society)
Pershing participating in the Ozark Harvest Food fight (Community)
Mrs. Grant and her students participating in the Spring Choir concert (Community and Global Society)
Mrs. Cook shows an anticipatory set when teaching students how to sew. (High levels of Learning)
Students trying to make sure they get all of their tickets while they are preparing to show their learning for the year on the MAP test. (High levels of learning for all)

PLT Team Meetings:
We are moving from Question 1 to Question 2 of the PLC Questions.
What do we want our kids to learn? (Essential Standards, Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum)
How do we know they learned it? ( Data, Common Formative Assessments, Formatives, Summative)
What do we do when they don’t? (Interventions-Tier 2 and Tier 3)
What do we do when they do? (Extensions and Enrichments)
Objectives should be posted somewhere permanently in the room and those objectives should be referred to often to maximize student learning.
