September 18

As we begin week 5, we acknowledge that we are in full swing of school, and the end of the week will mark mid-quarter of the 1st 9 weeks. I want you to stop and acknowledge the small successes you were able to do within the first 4 weeks of school and celebrate. Celebrate you, your kids and the process. Those successes you were able to have are a result of the small habits you were able to stack everyday to lead to 1% daily improvement and a growth mindset.  Each of you work hard and that hard work is seen and appreciated. We will have a wonderful week at Pershing because you are here.

September 10

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We completed the third week and we are full tilt into the school year. Our goals have been and will always be having high expectations academically and behaviorally. Never underestimate the power of stopping to reinforce/reward the behaviors we want to see and re-teaching those behaviors when necessary, either individually or to the entire class. We want to make tiny gains in both of these areas because we know that over time those time gains will stack up to amazing accomplishments for ALL of our students. Below you will find a graphic of how that works. I look forward to a great week.

 September 4th

Happy Labor day weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed the 3 day weekend after our 1st full week of school. It seems as if our students are quickly getting back into the routine of school, this is with the help of each of you taking the time to teach expectations and celebrating those students that meet those expectations on a daily basis. In addition to seeing clear behavioral expectations being taught, the Admin team is also seeing great strategies being implemented to help our students achieve academically. Great job as we get 1% better every day to ensure we live out Mission.

PLT’s will begin this week. Like previously communicated, these will take place in designated areas. This is Admin directed time that we will dedicate to the PLC process Monday-Thursday. This time will be flipped on Friday’s to allow you time with your grade level team.
